Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Don Twitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephan Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Twitchell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stephan Marx! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marx tries to score a power double leg takedown but Twitchell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marx somewhat. Marx tries to close the distance and clinch but Twitchell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Twitchell tries to clinch up. Twitchell gets a takedown into half guard. Marx actively working from the bottom here. Twitchell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Twitchell tries to pass the half guard into mount. Marx knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marx is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Twitchell pulls his head out easily. Twitchell trying to control the action but Marx is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Twitchell prevents Marx from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marx trying to control but Twitchell postures up.
Marx might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Twitchell kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Twitchell keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Twitchell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Marx circles away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Marx. Marx clinches. Marx is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Twitchell is defending well. Don Twitchell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephan Marx. Marx looks gassed! Marx wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Twitchell goes for a takedown attempt but Marx pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Marx lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Twitchell wants to clinch up but Marx keeps it at a distance. Twitchell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Twitchell closes the distance and pushes Marx back into the cage. Marx blocks an uppercut.
Twitchell has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Twitchell will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Marx up against the cage. Twitchell ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Twitchell no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Twitchell has his feet on Marx's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Twitchell with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marx keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Twitchell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Marx as he jumps to the side. Twitchell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Twitchell postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Twitchell trying to control but Marx is working from the bottom. Marx really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Twitchell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Twitchell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marx works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Twitchell dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Twitchell is looking to clinch. Marx rushes Twitchell and presses him up against the cage. Twitchell tries to break the clinch but Marx is controlling the position. Marx lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Twitchell keeps control of Marx as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Marx tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Twitchell smiles and moves away.
Marx gets tackled into the cage by Twitchell. Twitchell maintains the clinch. Twitchell looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Twitchell lands an elbow that stopped Marx in his tracks for a moment. Marx can't get the takedown.
Twitchell using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Marx has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Twitchell misses with an elbow strike.
Marx gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Twitchell.
Marx manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Marx is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Twitchell is aware though and is defending well. Marx controlling the position. Twitchell trying to control but Marx is working from the bottom. Twitchell preventing the sweep. Marx is breathing heavily. Marx has momentary wrist control but Twitchell slips an elbow through the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Twitchell slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Twitchell trying to control the action but Marx is working from the bottom. Twitchell decides to stand back up. Twitchell steps back and let's Marx get back to his feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Marx. Don Twitchell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephan Marx. Twitchell clinches with his opponent.

Marx tries to stand but Twitchell is controlling from the bottom. Twitchell manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Twitchell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Marx fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Twitchell avoids it really well and circles away. Twitchell looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Marx!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Twitchell working for a guillotine from mount but Marx is in no mood to give up. Marx tries to hold on but Twitchell pushes him away. Twitchell lands a heavy elbow. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Twitchell landing shots from mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Marx is squirming around, avoiding Twitchell's attempts to control the action. Twitchell lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

A head kick misses from Marx. Marx shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Twitchell as he avoids it easily. Twitchell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Marx's guard. Twitchell is stalling in the full guard. Twitchell trying to control but Marx is working from the bottom. Marx can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Twitchell controls the pace. Marx takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marx looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Twitchell has picked Marx up and slammed him! Marx can't keep hold of the triangle and Twitchell manages to pass to side control! Twitchell is looking to take a break and control but Marx is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Twitchell prevents Marx from escaping the position. Twitchell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Marx keeps working. Twitchell taking a breather here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marx gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Twitchell has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Marx's face.
Twitchell tries to control but Marx wriggling away. Twitchell sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Twitchell has control of Marx's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Marx regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marx has given up his back here. Will Twitchell look for the submission or keep pounding away?
