Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Boing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sonnen gets tackled into the cage by Boing. Boing maintains the clinch.

Sonnen has hold of one of Boing's legs. Boing is fighting the takedown attempt but Sonnen gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Sonnen drops back looking for a leg! Boing is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Boing manages to kick Sonnen off! Sonnen jumps back into Boing's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sonnen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Sonnen drops back looking for a leg! Boing is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Boing manages to kick Sonnen off! Sonnen jumps back into Boing's guard.

Boing is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sonnen defends well.
Sonnen won't allow Boing to sweep him here.
Boing is working hard here to advance position.

Boing controls Sonnen momentarily but Sonnen frees himself.

Sonnen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Boing is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sonnen, into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boing got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sonnen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boing has managed to get both his arms back between Sonnen's legs - danger averted.

Sonnen is looking for a triangle but Boing pushes his legs off easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boing distracts Sonnen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Boing with a flurry of punches that miss.

Sonnen looking for a guillotine here but Boing defends easily.
Boing slips nicely into half guard.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Boing winds up and cracks Sonnen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Boing is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sonnen!
Sonnen is bucking up trying to escape but Boing cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Boing scoring with strikes but Sonnen is staying in there.
Boing tries to control but Sonnen wriggling away.

Boing wants to finish this one by submission but Sonnen is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Boing.
Sonnen is looking to improve his position but Boing isn't that keen on the idea.
Boing lands with some strikes.

Sonnen gets back to half guard.

Sonnen looks gassed!
Sonnen is looking for a sweep. Boing is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Boing tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sonnen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Boing knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sonnen on the ground.

Sonnen is pressing down on Boing's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Sonnen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Boing pushes down on Sonnen's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Boing is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Boing seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sonnen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sonnen can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sonnen is staying active underneath Boing, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Boing is pressing down on Sonnen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sonnen is holding on for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Boing connects with a nice short shot to Sonnen's temple.
Sonnen is staying active underneath Boing, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sonnen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Boing pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brian Sonnen will probably get the nod.

Boing looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Boing rushes Sonnen and presses him up against the cage.

Sonnen has clasped his hands together around Boing's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Sonnen has an Americana. Boing didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sonnen is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sonnen hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
