1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Severyn! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deps wants to clinch up but Severyn keeps it at a distance. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Deps is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Deps shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Severyn defends it nicely. Deps shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Severyn as he avoids it easily. Deps gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Deps breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Deps thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Severyn if he has to take too many more of those.

Deps regains half guard there - taking advantage of Severyn's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Deps knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Severyn on the ground.

Severyn wants to control from the top but Deps keeps moving. Severyn is working Deps over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Deps keeping full guard, as Severyn tries to pass. This has been an exciting period of action! Severyn wants to control from the top but Deps keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Severyn sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Deps tries to close the distance and clinch but Severyn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
