Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Napoleon Moreau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haruki Ikeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haruki Ikeda will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Napoleon Moreau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Haruki Ikeda!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moreau instigates a clinch.

Moreau pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ikeda lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Moreau circles away quickly and effectively.

Ikeda forces Moreau back against the cage and clinches.

Moreau has clasped his hands together around Ikeda's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Ikeda can't do much from the bottom here.

Moreau is trying to get an arm triangle but Ikeda is defending well.
Moreau in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Moreau creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ikeda sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Moreau is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ikeda is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ikeda is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Moreau is controlling him well.

Ikeda manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Moreau is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ikeda scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Ikeda thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ikeda lands a nice short elbow.
Moreau manages to get to full guard.
Moreau on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Moreau tries to get out of the position.

Ikeda throwing strikes but missing.
Moreau looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ikeda trying to control the position from guard on top but Moreau is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Moreau has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Ikeda wants to get up but he can't break Moreau's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ikeda closes this distance looking for a takedown but Moreau circles away.

and Moreau decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ikeda's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Moreau accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ikeda not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Haruki Ikeda hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Moreau lands a nice looking body shot.
Moreau swinging wildly here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ikeda is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Moreau to keep the fight standing.
Napoleon Moreau has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Haruki Ikeda.

Moreau pulls guard effortlessly.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Moreau's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ikeda stands up from Moreau's guard - Ikeda perhaps looking for a knockout.
Ikeda looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Moreau clinches.
Ikeda stalling in the clinch but Moreau improves position.
Ikeda tries to circle away but Moreau has him pinned against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Moreau successfully pulls guard.

Moreau kicks Ikeda off and gets to his feet.

Moreau throws a sloppy head kick and Ikeda moves out of range easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Moreau looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Moreau shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ikeda but Ikeda pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ikeda looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Moreau keeps the fight on the outside.

Moreau feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Moreau stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ikeda swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Moreau trying to control but Ikeda is working from the bottom.
Ikeda working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Moreau.
Moreau throws an elbow that misses. Ikeda uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Moreau's guard. Nice move by Ikeda!
Ikeda slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Ikeda won't allow Moreau to get back to his feet.

Ikeda drops back looking for a leg! Moreau is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Moreau manages to kick Ikeda off! Ikeda jumps back into Moreau's guard.
Ikeda is looking to advance position but Moreau has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee warns Ikeda that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Moreau tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Moreau lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Moreau controlling the position easily from mount.
Moreau seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ikeda for as long as he can get away with.
Ikeda slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Moreau postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Ikeda to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Moreau feints and as Ikeda raises his hands in defense, Moreau changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ikeda looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Moreau passes into side control.
Ikeda can't do much from the bottom here.
Ikeda is looking to reverse the position.
Ikeda is trying to escape the position but Moreau is controlling the position.
Ikeda taking punishment in the form of punches.
Moreau has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Ikeda!
Ikeda tries to reverse the position but Moreau maintains control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Moreau looking to control and managing it successfully.

Moreau stands up from mount. Strange move.

Moreau looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Ikeda moves into full guard.
Moreau not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Ikeda has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Moreau can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Moreau stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Moreau drives through with a takedown into Ikeda's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Moreau controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Ikeda pulls Moreau in close to prevent any damage.

Moreau avoids the head kick by Ikeda.

Moreau lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ikeda or not.

Moreau pulls guard.
Moreau is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Moreau is pulling down on Ikeda's head. It's preventing any offense from Ikeda, at least for the moment.
Ikeda throwing strikes from guard but Moreau blocks nicely.
Ikeda trying to control the position from guard on top but Moreau is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Moreau doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Napoleon Moreau showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Moreau has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
