Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Twighy Pupples (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Rueda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rueda has chosen darude-sandstorm as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Twighy Pupples! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Rueda! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pupples shoots in for a takedown but Rueda shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Rueda throws a low kick but Pupples avoids it. Rueda moves into range and clinches up with Pupples. Pupples has had enough of the clinch but Rueda keeps him there for the moment. Rueda lands a shot to the body. Rueda tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pupples avoids it. Pupples tries for a takedown but Rueda manages to get underhooks.
Rueda has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pupples uses from the top position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Rueda uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Pupples has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Twighy Pupples. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rueda takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Rueda takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rueda closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pupples is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rueda remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Rueda decides to stand back up. Rueda fails with the takedown. Pupples tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Rueda counters with a single leg into guard. Pupples didn't expect that. Rueda distracts Pupples with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Rueda is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Pupples has momentary wrist control but Rueda slips an elbow through the middle. Pupples being controlled here, momentarily. Rueda stands up from Pupples's guard - Rueda perhaps looking for a knockout. Twighy Pupples seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rueda shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rueda controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Pupples might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rueda stands up from Pupples's guard - Rueda perhaps looking for a knockout. Rueda shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Rueda stands and steps away. Pupples gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Rueda gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Rueda drags the fight down to the ground.
Rueda is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rueda is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pupples gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Rueda is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Pupples can't fight it off and eventually Rueda manages to take the fight to the floor. Pupples looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Rueda controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Rueda throws a big elbow that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rueda sitting in guard, not really doing much. Pupples wants to control but Rueda passes easily into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fernando Rueda dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Rueda tries for a takedown but Pupples sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Rueda looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Rueda has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Rueda gets to his feet - Pupples follows without any prompting. Pupples tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rueda paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rueda looks for a takedown but Pupples sprawls well. Rueda slaps away a takedown attempt from Pupples, before circling back to the center of the mat. Rueda fails with a takedown attempt. Twighy Pupples has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fernando Rueda. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pupples throws the kick towards the body but Rueda avoids it. Rueda throws a sloppy head kick and Pupples moves out of range easily. Rueda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pupples tries to avoid it but Rueda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pupples to the ground. Pupples escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Pupples avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rueda displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pupples. Twighy Pupples is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Pupples is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Pupples tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rueda swivels and escapes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rueda shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rueda showed some decent athleticism there. Rueda works his way into full mount! Rueda tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Let's hope that Rueda has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pupples is wriggling around trying to escape.
Rueda sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Pupples wants to control but Rueda is having none of it. Pupples is trying desperately to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rueda has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pupples's face.
Pupples tries to lock up and control but Rueda gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Pupples takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Rueda dominating with strikes here. Rueda controlling from mount. Rueda dominating with strikes here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rueda controlling from the full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fernando Rueda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Rueda scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Rueda stands up and we're back to a striking position. Pupples gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rueda to score an easy takedown into full guard. Pupples is looking for a triangle here but Rueda uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rueda tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Rueda lands a big elbow. Rueda takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Rueda landing strikes from the mount and Pupples is in trouble! Rueda tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rueda looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rueda quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Rueda but it's paid off an Pupples is forced to tap! Nice work by Rueda.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Fernando Rueda! A very excited looking Fernando Rueda rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
