Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Vilas Novas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Schabner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schabner has chosen 3 Doors Down - It's Not My Time as his entrance music. Chris Schabner told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schabner throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Vilas Novas stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Schabner follows into mount!
It looks like Vitor Vilas Novas has been cut.
Vilas Novas tries to lock up and control but Schabner gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schabner looking to control but Vilas Novas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Vilas Novas is looking to get to half guard.
Vilas Novas tries to hold on but Schabner postures up.
Vilas Novas taking shots to the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Schabner throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Schabner takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Schabner tries to push Vilas Novas's head away but Vilas Novas is holding on tight.
Vilas Novas is breathing heavily.
Schabner trying to control but Vilas Novas is having none of it.
Schabner might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Vilas Novas kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Despite being in the dominant position, Chris Schabner just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vilas Novas is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Schabner scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Schabner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Schabner scores with a one two! Vilas Novas had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Vilas Novas is rocked!
Vilas Novas takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Oh Vilas Novas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Schabner closes the distance and clinches.
Vilas Novas just leaning against Schabner, taking a breather.
Vilas Novas seems to have got his legs back now.
Vilas Novas swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Vilas Novas is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Schabner is keeping busy.
Schabner breaks the clinch.
Vilas Novas shoots for a double leg takedown but Schabner sprawls well. He's pushed Vilas Novas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vilas Novas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Schabner.
Schabner cracks Vilas Novas with a right hand to the side of the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Vilas Novas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Schabner as he jumps to the side.
Schabner wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Vilas Novas is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Vilas Novas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schabner as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitor Vilas Novas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A swing and a miss from Schabner.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Vilas Novas. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Schabner lands with a big left! Vilas Novas is wobbled badly! Schabner comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Vilas Novas to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
