Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Noah Bennet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshihiro Kondo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bennet kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Unloco - Crashing. 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Noah Bennet! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshihiro Kondo! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kondo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bennet working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kondo. Bennet is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Kondo wants to get back to full guard. Bennet tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kondo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Bennet not doing much here.
Kondo is trying is best to control the position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bennet in particular looking to stall. Kondo is trying to control but Bennet passes into side control!
