Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tadashi Nakamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ashe Corven!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura misses the shot to the body.
Nakamura ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Corven uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nakamura.
Nakamura throws a lazy right hand but Corven sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Corven looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nakamura is fending him off so far but Corven persists. Nope, Nakamura circles away and we're back to standing.
Corven thows a body shot but no joy.
Corven displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nakamura throws out the jab.
Nakamura misses with a jab, cross combination.
Corven shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nakamura but Nakamura pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nakamura connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Corven's hands.

Nakamura shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Nakamura wants to pass the guard but Corven is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nakamura in particular looking to stall.
Nakamura wants to pass to mount but Corven is defending the position.
Nakamura sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Nakamura takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Nakamura seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Corven does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Corven misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Nakamura thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Corven's head.
Corven is refusing to be controlled, as Nakamura sits in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nakamura is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Nakamura has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Nakamura has control of Corven's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Corven regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nakamura with a couple of short strikes.
Nakamura lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Corven hang on?
Nakamura breaks from Corven's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Nakamura has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nakamura loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Corven scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Nakamura land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Nakamura stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tadashi Nakamura!
Tadashi Nakamura was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
