The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nielsen checks a low kick from Kallio. Kallio misses with an attempted mid kick.
Nielsen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kallio rushes Nielsen and presses him up against the cage. Nielsen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nielsen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kallio is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Nielsen stops Kallio from standing up. Nielsen wants to get up but he can't break Kallio's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kallio has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Nielsen should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kallio has tightened it up now! Nielsen should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Henrik Kallio!
