Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ektomorf - Show Your Fist. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jean Pierre! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pierre throws a leg kick that is checked and Watson counters with a straight right hand. Watson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Watson throwing shots but Pierre is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pierre is trying to stand back up but Watson is controlling him
Watson is trying to work for a kimura but Pierre is defending well.

Pierre is working Watson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Watson can't keep his opponent in guard - Pierre advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Watson actively working from the bottom here. Pierre moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Watson. Watson is breathing heavily. Watson is looking for a sweep. Pierre grinds an elbow into Watson's temple. Watson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Pierre connects with a decent elbow. Watson tries to bench press Pierre off him but Pierre keeps the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Watson gets back to half guard. Nice strikes from Pierre there. Pierre seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Pierre lands a big shot. That's four minutes gone in the round. Watson is pressing down on Pierre's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Pierre's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Pierre wants to stand but Watson is controlling his posture from full guard. Pierre throws an elbow that misses. Watson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pierre's guard. Nice move by Watson! Watson postures up in Pierre's guard and throws a big left but Pierre blocks it. Watson has hold of Pierre's hands but Pierre slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Watson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Pierre not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Pierre working over Watson with some ground and pound. Watson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Watson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Pierre. Pierre is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Pierre lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Watson regains full guard. Nicely done. Pierre with a flurry of punches that miss. Pierre trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Watson is looking for a triangle but Pierre pushes his legs off easily.
Watson wants to sweep here but Pierre controlling him for the moment. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Watson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pierre postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Watson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pierre, into his guard. Pierre is trying to keep Watson in close.
Watson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Watson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Watson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Watson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Pierre.
