Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Tarasov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiger JonesJr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tiger JonesJr is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Tarasov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tiger JonesJr!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tarasov throws a head kick but JonesJr moves out of range.
Tarasov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but JonesJr was well out of range. Poor timing from Tarasov.
Tarasov misses with a two punch combination.
No joy there for Tarasov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

JonesJr shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
JonesJr trying to control but Tarasov is working from the bottom.
JonesJr not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Tarasov keeping moving, preventing JonesJr from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tiger JonesJr was stalling too much, according to the referee.
JonesJr misses with the combination.
JonesJr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

JonesJr shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tarasov is trying to defend but JonesJr finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tarasov tries to get to full guard but JonesJr has control of the leg.

Tarasov is not content to let JonesJr control the position.
JonesJr trying to control the pace.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

JonesJr is trying to work for a kimura but Tarasov is defending well.
Tarasov wants to stand back up but JonesJr manages to pass into side control.
JonesJr in side control, throwing shots but Tarasov defends.
Tarasov is pushing JonesJr's head away, looking to escape. JonesJr manages to hold on to the position though.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

JonesJr tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no JonesJr has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
JonesJr lands a few punches from side control.
JonesJr is looking to take a break and control but Tarasov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

JonesJr tries for a kimura but Tarasov is defending well.
JonesJr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tarasov keeps working.

JonesJr is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tarasov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
JonesJr trying to control the action but Tarasov is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
JonesJr in side control lands a decent elbow.

JonesJr decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tarasov to his feet.
JonesJr avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tiger JonesJr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
JonesJr throws a right hand that Tarasov ducks under and follows up with a left that Tarasov also avoids with ease.
Sloppy strikes from Tarasov. Those never looked like landing.
Tarasov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tarasov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
JonesJr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
JonesJr misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tarasov showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from JonesJr.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tarasov throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Tarasov slips a jab and a cross from JonesJr.
Tarasov lands a head kick!
A combination from Tarasov does no damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A punch combination from JonesJr misses.
JonesJr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ivan Tarasov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tiger JonesJr.
JonesJr shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
JonesJr looks gassed!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Tarasov!
Ivan Tarasov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tarasov tries to move into range but JonesJr moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
The fighters circle, before Tarasov throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into JonesJr's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Tarasov lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Ivan Tarasov!
