Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marko Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian McCall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marko Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ian McCall!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Khan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McCall to the mat! McCall manages to get full guard.
Khan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McCall is keeping the position for now.

McCall escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Khan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
McCall keeping moving, preventing Khan from controlling successfully.
McCall doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Khan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Khan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McCall will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
McCall trying to keep a closed guard but Khan is proving a slippery customer.
Khan stops McCall from standing up.

Khan looking to sit in guard and control but McCall gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Khan is looking for a triangle but McCall pushes his legs off easily.

McCall would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
McCall postures up.

Khan manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Khan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Khan tries to clinch up but McCall circles away and keeps his distance.
Khan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Khan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McCall throws a right and a left that both miss.
Khan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McCall tries to avoid it but Khan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McCall to the ground. McCall escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Khan misses with a two punch combination.
No luck for McCall with that takedown attempt.
Khan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
McCall shoots in but Khan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
McCall throws a sloppy head kick and Khan moves out of range easily.

McCall has a takedown stuffed.
Marko Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ian McCall.
Khan tries to score a power double leg takedown but McCall sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Khan somewhat.
McCall shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Khan as he jumps to the side.
McCall tries to land a leg kick but Khan saw it coming and moves away.

Khan has managed to clinch.

Khan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Some wild striking there from McCall.
Khan is trying hard to land a takedown here. McCall sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

McCall misses with a takedown attempt
and Khan counters with a three punch combo that has McCall backing up. McCall nods at Khan to acknowledge the strikes.
Khan fails with a takedown attempt.
Khan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McCall as he avoids it easily.
McCall tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Khan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Khan shoots for a double leg takedown but McCall sprawls well. He's pushed Khan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
McCall dives in and grabs Khan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Khan pushes down on McCall's head and hops out.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McCall tries for a takedown but Khan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
McCall looks gassed!
Khan throws a head kick that misses.

Khan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Khan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Khan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McCall wants to clinch.
McCall tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Khan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
McCall shoots in and drives through. Khan sprawls well.
McCall fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Khan misses with a low kick as McCall jumps back.

Khan clinches with his opponent.
Khan has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McCall after a bit of a struggle.

McCall pulls Khan into guard.
Khan trying to control the position from guard on top but McCall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Khan engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
McCall has Khan pulled in close to control his posture.
Khan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Marko Khan wasn't doing enough on the ground.
McCall shoots in and drives through. Khan sprawls well.
Marko Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ian McCall.
Khan tries to clinch there but McCall circles away.
No luck for McCall with that takedown attempt.

McCall moves into range and clinches up with Khan.
Khan doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
McCall is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Khan to keep the fight standing.

McCall pulls Khan into guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
McCall is breathing heavily.

McCall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

McCall looking for a guillotine here but Khan defends easily.
Khan passes McCall's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Khan works his foot free and advances to mount.

Khan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McCall is looking to escape.

McCall rushes Khan and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

McCall jumps guard and drags Khan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

McCall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Khan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Khan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Khan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Khan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Khan gets to his feet - McCall follows without any prompting.
McCall tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Khan paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Khan closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into McCall's guard.
Khan won't allow McCall to get back to his feet.

McCall is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
McCall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

McCall controls Khan momentarily but Khan frees himself.
Khan tries to stand but McCall is controlling from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Khan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McCall but McCall pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A decent looking cross lands there for McCall.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McCall is defended easily by Khan.

Khan stuffs the takedown attempt from McCall. McCall gets slowly back to his feet.
McCall shoots in for a takedown but Khan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marko Khan.
Well Khan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
