Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dante Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rin Itoshiki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Itoshiki has chosen Hito toshite Jiku ga Bureteiru (SZS Mod. Rap ver.) as his entrance music. Rin Itoshiki is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dante Hicks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rin Itoshiki! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hicks keeps the fight on the outside. Itoshiki tries to clinch there but Hicks circles away.
Hicks uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Itoshiki. Itoshiki looks to score with a jab to the body but Hicks is just out of range. Itoshiki throws a lazy right hand but Hicks sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A lazy left from Hicks finds it's target. Itoshiki moves out of range as Hicks strikes. Itoshiki throws out a loose jab but Hicks uses good head movement to avoid it. Hicks throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Itoshiki. Itoshiki misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hicks.
Rin Itoshiki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Itoshiki tries to clinch but Hicks moves out of range. Hicks gets in close and instigates a clinch. Hicks tries for a takedown. No joy.
Itoshiki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Itoshiki is looking to clinch. Itoshiki throws a chopping leg kick but Hicks manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Itoshiki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hicks swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's one minute gone in the round. Itoshiki turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Hicks drives through and clinches with Itoshiki against the cage.
Hicks drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Itoshiki gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Hicks taking a breather. Itoshiki trying to stall but Hicks improves his position.
Itoshiki lands with a short head shot on the inside. Itoshiki is pressed up against the cage. Hicks has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Itoshiki down to the mat. Itoshiki avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Hicks closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Hicks has Itoshiki pressed against the cage, preventing Itoshiki from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Itoshiki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hicks gets a clinch. Itoshiki wants to break free but Hicks has control.

It looks like Dante Hicks has been cut. Hicks is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Hicks is looking to take this one to the mat. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hicks throws an elbow but it misses.
Hicks has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Itoshiki uses from the top position. Itoshiki is stalling in the full guard. Hicks keeping moving, preventing Itoshiki from controlling successfully. Hicks looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Rin Itoshiki has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Itoshiki has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Rin Itoshiki has been cut. Itoshiki is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hicks. The fighters circle momentarily. Hicks darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Hicks fails with an attempt to clinch.
Itoshiki gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Hicks has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Itoshiki is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Itoshiki avoids the elbow strike from Hicks, against the cage.
Hicks gets control of Itoshiki's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hicks will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Itoshiki looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Itoshiki stopping the sweep attempt from Hicks. Itoshiki must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Itoshiki is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Hicks is looking for a triangle but Itoshiki pushes his legs off easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hicks keeping moving, preventing Itoshiki from controlling successfully. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Hicks is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Itoshiki defends well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dante Hicks will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hicks keeps the fight on the outside. Donk. Hicks catches Itoshiki right on the button with a cross. Itoshiki wants to clinch up but Hicks keeps it at a distance. Itoshiki thows a left - swing and a miss! Hicks keeps the fight on the outside. Itoshiki looks to clinch and Hicks counters with a right hand to the body. Dante Hicks is winning the standup battle so far. Hicks is looking to clinch but Itoshiki is avoiding it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hicks fails with an attempt to clinch.

Itoshiki lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Hicks instigates a clinch. Hicks tightens his grip and picks Itoshiki up, before dumping him to the ground. Itoshiki manages to land in guard. Itoshiki scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Itoshiki clinches up with Hicks and pushes him back against the cage. Itoshiki is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Itoshiki lands a lovely overhand right. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! No luck for Itoshiki with that takedown attempt. Itoshiki misses with a right hand and Hicks counters with a nice uppercut. A cross from Hicks lands. Hicks closes the distance and clinches up with Itoshiki, looking for a takedown. Hicks pushes Itoshiki against the cage but Itoshiki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hicks throws a body punch but Itoshiki moves out of range. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Itoshiki closes the distance and clinches. Stalling in the clinch from Itoshiki.

On like donkey kong! Itoshiki scores with a jab. Itoshiki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hicks paws at him with a jab and circles away. Itoshiki closes the distance and clinches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Itoshiki breaks from the clinch.

Itoshiki looks to clinch and Hicks counters with a single leg into guard. Itoshiki didn't expect that. Itoshiki avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Itoshiki wants to stand and escape but Hicks is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Itoshiki is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Hicks wants to control from the top but Itoshiki keeps moving. Hicks postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hicks trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hicks with a flurry of punches that miss. Hicks throws a strike but Itoshiki rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Itoshiki content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Hicks has locked up a guillotine! Hicks's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Itoshiki is holding on here and Hicks must be using up a lot of energy. Itoshiki has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Hicks gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
