Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Fury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Bryan Fury!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Powell!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fury lands with a nice body punch.
Fury misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Powell moves forwards but Fury connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Fury pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fury cracks Powell with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Fury throws a head kick that misses.
Fury misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Powell.
Powell dodges the punch combination from Fury.
Powell takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Powell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fury.

Powell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Fury is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Powell gets to his feet. Fury looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Powell takes one on the button.
Fury throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Powell moves in looking to clinch but Fury pushes him off.
Powell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fury's waist but Fury gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Powell off to one side.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Powell checks a leg kick.

Powell feints and as Fury raises his hands in defense, Powell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Powell wants to get up but he can't break Fury's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Fury wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Powell stands up and waves to Fury to follow him.
Fury darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Powell is looking to clinch but Fury is avoiding it.
Fury misses with the combination.
Fury misses with a head kick.
Powell misses with a takedown attempt
and Fury counters with a three punch combo that has Powell backing up. Powell nods at Fury to acknowledge the strikes.
Fury throws the left hand but Powell avoids the punch easily.
Bryan Fury is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Powell counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Powell stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Fury keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bryan Fury has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Powell.
Fury catches Powell with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Fury throws a series of punches but Powell avoids them all with ease.

and Powell counters with a nice leg kick.

and Powell counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Fury!
Fury is breathing heavily.

Powell stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Fury throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fury lands with a good body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fury just misses with a punch to the body.
Powell slips a jab and a cross from Fury.
Powell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fury pinned against the cage. Fury gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Fury throws a lazy head kick

and Powell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Fury won't be happy with that.

Powell stands up.

Powell shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fury sprawls well. Fury wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Powell gets slowly back to his feet.
Fury lands a jab.

Powell shoots in and bounces Fury off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fury is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Fury is looking to stand up but Powell isn't so interested in that idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but James Powell will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Powell closes the distance and clinches.
Powell's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Fury just misses with a elbow thrown towards Powell's brow.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but James Powell will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Powell is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Fury is defending well for now.

Powell shoots in for a takedown but Fury shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

With the fighters up against the cage, Fury throws an elbow but misses.

Powell turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Fury is trying to get back to half guard.

Powell stands up and we're back to a striking position.
No joy there for Fury, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fury takes a swing at Powell's ribcage but misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Powell.
Powell closes the distance and clinches up with Fury, looking for a takedown. Powell pushes Fury against the cage but Fury circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fury misses with an uppercut.
Fury throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Powell.
James Powell is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Fury throws a right hand that Powell ducks under and follows up with a left that Powell also avoids with ease.
Fury swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Powell gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Powell shoots in but Fury avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bryan Fury has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Powell fails with the takedown.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bryan Fury.
I think Powell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
