Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Nogueira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Kjovisk! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nogueira gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kjovisk. Nogueira shoots in for a takedown but Kjovisk shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Nogueira shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nogueira showed some decent athleticism there. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Kjovisk has hold of Nogueira's hands but Nogueira slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Nogueira keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Nogueira is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Nogueira throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Nogueira not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Nogueira is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kjovisk sees it coming and defends easily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nogueira not landing any meaningful shots this time. Nogueira throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kjovisk is looking to control Nogueira's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kjovisk avoid being mounted? Nogueira working Kjovisk over with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nogueira not landing any meaningful shots this time. Nogueira working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Nogueira seems to be looking for submissions.
Nogueira is looking for a kimura but Kjovisk is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nogueira to get the leverage. Nogueira lands a big elbow - Kjovisk is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Nogueira!
