Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Maile (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maile comes into the arena with Flo Rida - Good Feeling blaring out of the sound system. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Maile! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Hall! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maile shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Maile fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Matt Hall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Maile swats away the attempt to clinch by Hall. Maile decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Maile is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hall is just riding it out for now. Maile eventually gives up the hold. Hall wants to control the action here but instead Maile manages to pass to full mount! Maile thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's one minute gone in the round. Hall wants to control but Maile is having none of it. Maile cracks Hall with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Maile unloading with bombs! Maile jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hall manages to avoid the submission attempt. Maile controlling from side mount. Hall takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maile trying to control the action but Hall is working from the bottom. Maile working away. Sloppy strikes there by Maile. Maile wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hall, who protects the arm well. Maile goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hall has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Maile but great work by Hall. Maile on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Maile tries to get out of the position. You can see the frustration on Maile's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maile sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Hall sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Maile defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hall is thwarting Maile's attempts to control the position. Maile holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Hall prevents Maile from improving his position. Hall not landing any meaningful shots this time. Maile works his way to full guard. Good work. Hall must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hall won't allow Maile to sweep him here. Maile trying to control the position here. Maile trying to keep a closed guard but Hall is proving a slippery customer.
Maile has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ryan Maile. Maile changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hall tries to avoid it but Maile manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hall to the ground. Hall escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Maile. That's going to take a lot out of him. Maile looks for a takedown but Hall sprawls well. Maile misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Hall tries to close the distance and clinch but Maile swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hall wants to clinch up but Maile keeps it at a distance. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maile fails miserably with a takedown attempt. The fight stays on the outside here - Hall looks like he's thinking about clinching though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hall tries to clinch but Maile moves away and Maile counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Maile. Hall pushes Maile off and gets back to his feet.
Hall tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maile paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hall gets caught napping as Maile dives in and scores a takedown. Hall manages to retain guard. Ryan Maile overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hall wants to sweep here but Maile controlling him for the moment. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maile in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hall is looking to stand up but Maile isn't so interested in that idea. Maile postures up in Hall's guard and throws a big left but Hall blocks it. Maile postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maile landing some decent shots from guard. Maile working some strikes from top position. Maile looking to sit in guard and control but Hall gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Maile working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hall doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Maile is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hall stopping the sweep attempt from Maile.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maile is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Maile preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Maile looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hall is one step ahead there. Maile avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Maile throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Maile pulls Hall in to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hall throws a big elbow that misses. Maile wants to sweep but no luck. Hall drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Maile dives on top into guard. Maile drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hall looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hall looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hall! An elbow from Hall crashes against the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Maile manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Hall is working for a kimura but Maile is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hall tries to pass the half guard into mount. Maile knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Maile has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hall is working away from the top position though. Maile is holding on to half guard well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maile is looking to control Hall's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Maile avoid being mounted? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maile thows a huge punch but Hall dodges it nicely.

Maile seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Maile is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Maile keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Maile takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Hall looks like he's trying to stand up.

Maile stands up over Hall, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Matt Hall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Maile postures up.
Maile lands a couple of decent looking shots. Maile drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hall manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Maile has Hall in his guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maile looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
And that's the end of the fight! Ryan Maile showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Maile, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
