Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Governor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Houston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Governor comes to the cage accompanied by Didgeridoo. Houston has chosen Colour it in as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmy Governor! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jordan Houston! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Governor lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Houston uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Governor.
Houston throws a body punch but Governor moves out of range. Governor takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Houston scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Houston avoids a kick to the body.
Houston throws an off balance right hand
and Governor counters with a nice leg kick. Houston connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Governor momentarily.
Governor tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Houston was well out of range. Poor timing from Governor. Houston slips a jab from Governor. Governor connects with a high kick. Governor lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Houston takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Houston looks to throw the jab but Governor is out of range. Houston closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Governor quickly recovers to half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Governor is looking to improve his position.

It looks like Houston might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Governor trying to control but Houston postures up.
Houston wants to lay and pray for a moment but Governor keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jordan Houston. Houston lands with a kick to the temple. Governor shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Houston throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. A low kick from Governor misses and Houston counters with an inside leg kick. Jimmy Governor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Governor with a body punch. A glancing blow. Governor misses with an attempted mid kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Houston looks for a takedown but Governor sprawls well. The fight stays on the outside here - Governor looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Houston with a body punch. A glancing blow. Governor doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. No luck with that takedown attempt from Governor. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A telegraphed right hand from Houston misses the target. Good standup being displayed there by Houston as he connects with a hook. Houston checks a leg kick. Good leg kick by Houston there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Governor gets off balance looking for a body kick and Houston cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Governor slips a straight right by Houston. Houston misses with a leg kick. Governor tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Governor avoids the body shot from Houston.
Governor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Houston uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Governor. Houston does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Houston waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Governor. Governor throws a quick inside leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Governor throws a head kick but Houston moves out of range.
Houston lands with a cross. Houston thuds a left hand into Governor's body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Houston lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Governor has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Governor and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Governor moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Governor takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Governor throws a low kick but Houston avoids it. Governor keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Governor throws a leg kick which misses Houston's front leg but catches the back leg as Houston tries to avoid it. Houston wants to clinch. Houston looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Houston misses with a takedown and Governor makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jordan Houston dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Governor feints and then cracks Houston's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Houston down. A bone on bone clash there as Governor blocks the leg kick.
Governor walks into a stiff left hand from Houston. Governor avoids the body shot from Houston.

A leg kick checked by Houston. Houston has a takedown stuffed. Houston swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Governor tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Houston throws a left and a right that both miss

That's one minute gone in the round. Governor closes the distance and pushes Houston back into the cage. Houston is trying to maintain a safe position but Governor gets an underhook and turns Houston into the cage. Governor can't find room to land a body shot as Houston controls the action.
Governor throws a head punch that misses. Houston has Governor pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Governor manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Houston displaying some good clinch control by pressing Governor up against the cage. Houston blocks a punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. A short right hand to the side of the head by Governor. Houston blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Governor lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Houston.

Houston has Governor pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Governor manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Jimmy Governor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Houston. Houston lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Governor or not. Houston has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Governor is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Houston lands a shot to the body. That's three minutes gone in the round. Houston is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Governor leaning his opponent against the cage. Governor tries for a takedown but Houston manages to get underhooks.

The referee is keeping an eye on Houston - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Governor scores with a shot to the side of Houston's head. Governor lands a right hand that snaps the head of Houston backwards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Houston turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Houston manages to end up in side control. Houston advances nicely into full mount. Houston looking to control but Governor is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Governor is desperately trying to improve his position but Houston has a good base and remains in mount. Houston trying to control but Governor is having none of it. Houston has hold of Governor's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Governor manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Governor displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Houston throws out the jab. Houston looks to score with a jab to the body but Governor is just out of range. Governor is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Houston's half guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Houston is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Governor is just riding it out for now. Houston eventually gives up the hold. Governor is staying active underneath Houston, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Governor wants to get back to his feet. Governor is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Houston is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Governor doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Houston. Governor wants to get back to his feet.

Governor is working hard here to advance position. Houston trying to control but he's not successful this time. Governor is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Governor is trying desperately to improve position. Houston working the ground and pound effectively.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Governor wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Houston has managed to slip his arm under Governor's chin. This could be all over... yep, Governor is tapping out! Submission win for Houston.
