Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Santiago Da Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Stone!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Stone.
Stone fails with a takedown attempt.
Da Silva thows a body shot but no joy.
Stone lands a nice leg kick that just misses Da Silva's sensitive parts.
Da Silva throws an overhand right that lands on Stone's shoulder, as Stone tries to avoid the shot.
Stone throws out a leg kick but Da Silva moves out of range and Stone only half commits.
A jab from Da Silva misses.
Stone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A slapping leg kick lands for Stone.
Da Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Stone moves out of range easily.
Stone chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Stone motions for Da Silva to come forward. Stone throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A combination from Da Silva does no damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Da Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Da Silva connects with a couple of short punches.
Da Silva works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Da Silva is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Stone is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Stone has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Stone is trying to control the action in half guard but Da Silva is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Stone tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stone has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Da Silva tries to bench press Stone off him but Stone keeps the position.
Da Silva manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Stone wants to free his trapped foot but Da Silva is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Stone is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Da Silva defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stone is thwarting Da Silva's attempts to control the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Stone tries to free his leg and advance position but Da Silva is retaining full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Da Silva passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Stone!

Da Silva swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Stone is now in Da Silva's guard. A big mistake from Da Silva there, giving up the dominant position!

Da Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Da Silva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Da Silva is trying to control the position but Stone postures up.
Stone working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Da Silva's head.
Stone won't allow Da Silva to sweep him here.
Sean Stone has got the better of the ground game so far.
Stone postures up in Da Silva's guard and throws a big left but Da Silva blocks it.
Stone trying to control but Da Silva is working from the bottom.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Stone cracks Da Silva with a solid left hand.
Stone forces his way into half guard.
Da Silva wants to control but Stone is keeping busy.

Stone seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stone is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Da Silva defends it well.
Stone is nestled in close to Da Silva, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stone looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Da Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stone is working away from the top position though.
Da Silva gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sean Stone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

It looks like Santiago Da Silva has been cut.
Da Silva buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Stone will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Stone shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Da Silva counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Sean Stone seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jeez, Santiago Da Silva's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Santiago Da Silva's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
