Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Whissell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rosco Espino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whissell comes to the cage accompanied by Rose Of Sharon. George Whissell has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Whissell!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rosco Espino!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Espino fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Whissell drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Espino keeping full guard, as Whissell tries to pass.
Espino looking to hit a scissor sweep but Whissell is one step ahead there.

Espino is looking for a triangle but Whissell pushes his legs off easily.
Whissell landing some decent shots from guard.
Whissell pushing down on Espino's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Espino is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Whissell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Espino is just riding it out for now. Whissell eventually gives up the hold.

Whissell is working for a kimura but Espino is defending it quite comfortably.

Whissell seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Espino is trying to control but can't.
Whissell seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Espino does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Whissell works his way into full mount!

Whissell moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Espino has worked his arm free - good work by Espino!

Espino moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Espino should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Espino has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Whissell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Whissell drops back looking for a leg! Espino is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Espino manages to kick Whissell off! Whissell jumps back into Espino's guard.

Espino is staying active underneath Whissell, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Espino manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Whissell manages to get himself to full guard.

Whissell has hold of Espino's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Espino manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Whissell has momentary wrist control but Espino slips an elbow through the middle.

Espino is sitting in close to Whissell's body. Whissell has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Espino is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Espino is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Whissell.
