Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hebrew Schulich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Atwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Atwood has chosen Kanye West-Gold Digger as his entrance music. Hebrew Schulich has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schulich tries to clinch up but Atwood circles away and keeps his distance. Hebrew Schulich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Atwood throws a shot from downtown. Schulich moves away and avoids it. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Schulich is defended easily by Atwood. Atwood throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Schulich sees it coming and avoids it easily. Atwood swats away the attempt to clinch by Schulich. Atwood tries to keep at a distance but Schulich has taken the fight into the clinch. Schulich connects with a nasty looking knee right to Atwood's face.
Schulich is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Atwood is defending well for now. Schulich jumps guard.
Atwood is fighting to break Schulich's control of his arms but Schulich is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Atwood trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Atwood is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Schulich isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Atwood stacks Schulich on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Atwood!
That's one minute gone in the round. Atwood tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Atwood has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Atwood thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Atwood is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Schulich is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Atwood is trying to get an arm triangle but Schulich is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schulich is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Atwood wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Schulich, who protects the arm well. Schulich knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Atwood on the ground. Atwood is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Schulich has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Schulich is trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Atwood tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Atwood tries for a kimura but Schulich is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atwood thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Schulich looking for a sweep but Atwood has passed into full mount! Oh no! Atwood wants to control the pace but Schulich is squirming around nicely. Schulich has given up his back here.

Atwood working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Schulich is doing well to defend. Atwood seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Schulich is forced to tap and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ryan Atwood! A relieved looking Ryan Atwood thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
