Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Laz Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vernon Koekemoer!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koekemoer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jones moves out of range of the leg kick from Koekemoer.
Jones throws a combination. Koekemoer tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Vernon Koekemoer has been cut.
Koekemoer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes.
Koekemoer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jones defends it nicely.
Laz Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vernon Koekemoer.
Koekemoer has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
Koekemoer jumps guard but Jones stands there with Koekemoer around his waist. Koekemoer gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Koekemoer just leaning against Jones, taking a breather.
Koekemoer keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Jones is trying to break the clinch but Koekemoer has him pressed against the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Jones's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Koekemoer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Koekemoer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jones connects with a nice looking jab.
Jones throws a wild body kick that Koekemoer sees coming a mile off.
Koekemoer throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jones lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Koekemoer looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well.
Koekemoer looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Koekemoer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Jones scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Koekemoer is rocked!
A decent looking cross lands there for Jones.
Koekemoer is still on wobbly legs! Can Jones finish him?
Jones throws a body kick that misses.
Koekemoer seems to have recovered his senses.
Jones looks to land a body kick but Koekemoer moved away.
Koekemoer is trying desperately to land a takedown but Jones is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Koekemoer.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones cracks Koekemoer with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Koekemoer shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Koekemoer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jones lands a big uppercut and Koekemoer crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Koekemoer looks OK. Jones waves Koekemoer back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Koekemoer leaves his chin hanging out and Jones seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Koekemoer crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Laz Jones!
