Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brian Redban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hunter Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Redban! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hunter Thompson! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redban lands a jab to the nose. Thompson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Redban as he jumps to the side. Redban walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Hunter Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Redban looks to score with a jab to the body but Thompson is just out of range. Redban throws a big shot that misses. Redban avoids the body shot from Thompson.

Redban takes a swing at Thompson's ribcage but misses. Redban throws a combination. Thompson tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Thompson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Redban scores with a nice right hand.
Thompson wants to clinch but Redban slips to the side and Redban cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A slow jab from Redban misses its intended target.

Brian Redban has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hunter Thompson. Redban fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Thompson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Redban lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Redban throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Thompson on the side of the head. Redban walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Redban swats away the attempt to clinch by Thompson. Thompson shoots in for a takedown but Redban shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

It looks like Hunter Thompson has been cut. Redban misses with a hook
and Thompson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Redban won't be happy with that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Thompson is trying to get an arm triangle but Redban is defending well. You can see the frustration on Redban's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Thompson throwing strikes but Redban manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Thompson is looking to reverse the position. Redban controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thompson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Thompson is trying to escape the position but Redban is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thompson is looking to reverse the position. Redban controls the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Brian Redban just wasn't active enough. Redban rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Thompson moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Thompson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
