PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dontae Greenberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yasujiro Ozu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice cross by Greenberg.
Ozu takes a swing at Greenberg's ribcage but misses.
Nice sprawl there from Greenberg as Ozu shoots in.
Greenberg misses with a few strikes there.
Ozu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Greenberg tries to avoid it but Ozu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Greenberg to the ground. Greenberg escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Greenberg wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Dontae Greenberg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yasujiro Ozu.
Ozu shoots in looking for a takedown. Greenberg tries to sprawl out of it but Ozu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Greenberg manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ozu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Greenberg really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ozu closes the distance and clinches up with Greenberg, looking for a takedown. Ozu pushes Greenberg against the cage but Greenberg circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ozu wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Greenberg wants to stand but Ozu has his arm trapped.

Greenberg stands up and beckons Ozu to his feet.
Ozu looks to score with a jab to the body but Greenberg is just out of range.

Greenberg shoots in and bounces Ozu off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ozu wants to control the position but Greenberg says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Ozu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Ozu goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Greenberg turns into him and now he's in Ozu's guard.

Ozu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Greenberg can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Greenberg looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ozu feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ozu isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Greenberg stacks Ozu on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Greenberg!

Ozu has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Greenberg doesn't defend quickly enough and Ozu has managed to lock this one up! Can Greenberg escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Ozu on a fantastic submission victory.
