Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Fontana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kinnison Brickshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brickshaw has chosen I will be heard by Hatebreed as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Paulo Fontana has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paulo Fontana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kinnison Brickshaw! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fontana fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Fontana with a jab. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Fontana, as that shot connected.
Fontana throws a nice looking combination but Brickshaw bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Fontana lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Brickshaw is rocked! Fontana getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Brickshaw is still on wobbly legs! Can Fontana finish him? Brickshaw gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Fontana drops back looking for a leg! Brickshaw is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brickshaw manages to kick Fontana off! Fontana jumps back into Brickshaw's guard. Brickshaw has his foot on Fontana's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fontana works his way back into a safe position though. Brickshaw looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fontana is one step ahead there. Brickshaw seems to have recovered his senses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brickshaw looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fontana wants to pass the guard but Brickshaw is keeping the position. Brickshaw has his foot on Fontana's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fontana gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brickshaw looks gassed! Brickshaw working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Fontana has passed into half guard!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fontana is tying to control. Brickshaw wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Fontana decides to stand and escape the position. Fontana throws a shot to the body.
Fontana works over Brickshaw's head and body with a nice combination. Brickshaw gets caught flat footed, as Fontana shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Brickshaw has momentary wrist control but Fontana slips an elbow through the middle. Brickshaw can't keep his opponent in guard - Fontana advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. This has been an exciting period of action! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Fontana wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brickshaw keeps working. Fontana has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Brickshaw is looking to get back to full guard here but Fontana has managed to pass to side control instead. Fontana punishing his opponent with strikes.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brickshaw is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fontana is just riding it out for now. Brickshaw eventually gives up the hold. Fontana is pressing down on Brickshaw's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fontana is on top in guard.

Paulo Fontana dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Brickshaw with a poor takedown and Fontana counters with a straight right hand. Brickshaw tries for a takedown but Fontana circles away easily and Fontana counters with a one-two to the body. Brickshaw is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Fontana Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Brickshaw's back instead. Fontana doesn't have the hooks in and Brickshaw manages to turn into his guard.

Kinnison Brickshaw showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Brickshaw manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Brickshaw wants to free his trapped foot but Fontana is holding on for dear life with his legs.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Brickshaw gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Brickshaw fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fontana sprawls well initially but Brickshaw persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Fontana wants to get back to full guard. Brickshaw missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Brickshaw is looking for a kimura here.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Paulo Fontana. I think Fontana has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
