PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins has chosen Hostile Mass as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson fails with a takedown attempt.

Jenkins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Peterson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jenkins tries to advance to mount but can't.

Jenkins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Peterson has escaped the position, nice work there.
Jenkins misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Peterson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jenkins off and has taken his back!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Peterson gets caught flat footed, as Jenkins shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Peterson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jenkins's guard.
Peterson forces his way into half guard.
Jenkins wants to improve his position but Peterson is controlling well.
Peterson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Jenkins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Peterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Peterson wants to sweep here but Jenkins controlling him for the moment.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jenkins accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Peterson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

A head kick by Peterson - that's a beauty! Jenkins is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Peterson can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Paul Peterson!
