Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Ames (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jesus Rios!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Ames!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rios moves into the clinch successfully.
Ames lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Ames displaying some good clinch control by pressing Rios up against the cage.
Ames presses Rios against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Rios goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Rios lands a right hand that snaps the head of Ames backwards.
Ames stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rios works on Ames's body with a couple of short punches.
Rios struggles to land a body shot inside as Ames controls his hands.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ames creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Rios trying to stall but Ames improves his position.
Rios misses with a punch to the body.

Ames lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Ames trying to control the action but Rios is working from the bottom.
Rios preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Ames not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rios avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ames.
Ames sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rios defending well though.
Ames throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ames performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Ames missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Ames trying to control the pace.
Ames wants to take a breather but Rios is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ames not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ames is looking to advance position but Rios won't allow it.
Ames is trying to control. Rios wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Ames drops an elbow to the side of Rios's head.
Rios is looking for a sweep. Ames is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rios keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ames wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rios keeps working.
Ames with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nathan Ames has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Rios is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rios fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rios tries to close the distance and clinch but Ames swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rios tries to land a front kick but Ames steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Rios tries a low kick but Ames avoids it.
Ames looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Rios misses with a hook to the body
and Ames counters with a left to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rios looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ames staying out of range there.
Rios scores with a jab to the jaw.
Ames lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Ames moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ames scores with a nice body kick.
Rios is breathing heavily.
Ames lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ames fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rios has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sloppy strikes from Rios. Those never looked like landing.

Ames feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Rios sprawling to the canvas! Rios rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ames finish him?!


Rios is rocked!
Ames shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Rios takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Ames sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Rios bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nathan Ames!
Nathan Ames is the new light heavyweight champion!
Nathan Ames gave a mention to TFP Graphics - Pit Inc in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
