Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Petar Gewain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chris McGrady! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gewain shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McGrady but McGrady pushes him off and we're back to square one. McGrady cracks Gewain with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. McGrady throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Gewain changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McGrady tries to avoid it but Gewain manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGrady to the ground. McGrady escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Chris McGrady seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gewain has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gewain there as he acknowledges the shot. Gewain moves in looking to clinch but McGrady pushes him off. Gewain takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A slow jab from McGrady misses its intended target. Gewain shoots in looking for a takedown but McGrady manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gewain's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Petar Gewain. That's going to take a lot out of him. McGrady shoots in for a takedown and gets it. This has been an exciting period of action! If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. McGrady seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. McGrady tries to pass to full mount but Gewain defends it.

McGrady doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McGrady manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. McGrady trying to control but Gewain is working from the bottom. McGrady got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gewain has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McGrady has managed to get both his arms back between Gewain's legs - danger averted. Gewain tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gewain is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McGrady tries to free his leg and advance position but Gewain is retaining full guard. Gewain tries to land a sweep but no joy. McGrady engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gewain looking for a guillotine here but McGrady defends easily.
Gewain is breathing heavily. McGrady is pushing down on Gewain's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gewain is fighting to maintain full guard but McGrady has managed to sneak the leg through. Gewain gets full guard. McGrady trying to control the position from guard on top but Gewain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McGrady slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Gewain keeping full guard, as McGrady tries to pass.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Chris McGrady was stalling too much, according to the referee. Gewain on the wrong end of a nice hook. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McGrady swings and misses with a hook to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McGrady dips down and scores with a jab to the body. McGrady thuds his right hand into Gewain's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. McGrady lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Gewain at a distance.
McGrady is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gewain's half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris McGrady dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Gewain is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A shot to the liver by McGrady. Beautiful body shot. McGrady jabs at Gewain's body. McGrady lands a body shot.
McGrady closes the distance and pushes Gewain back into the cage. Gewain jumps guard but McGrady turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Gewain tries to score a body lock takedown but McGrady shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from McGrady. Gewain tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McGrady just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Petar Gewain. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gewain jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McGrady walks away with a smile on his face. Gewain gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Gewain closes this distance looking for a takedown but McGrady circles away. McGrady darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gewain shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McGrady as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gewain will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gewain drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. McGrady closes the distance and pushes Gewain back into the cage. McGrady breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Gewain takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. McGrady lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Chris McGrady seems to be getting the better of the standup. McGrady feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gewains jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Gewain takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. McGrady cracks Gewain with a good jab. McGrady scores with the left hand. Gewain knows he should have avoided that one. Gewain on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McGrady is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. McGrady with a body punch. A glancing blow. Gewain on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Gewain is rocked! McGrady throws a shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oooooh!!! McGrady has knocked Gewain down with a huge combo! McGrady steps away and waves a wobbly Gewain back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! Oh Gewain is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! McGrady lands a huge takedown. Gewain is out but the ref is slow to react and McGrady lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Gewain lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
