The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poppy stuffs the takedown attempt from Marquet. Marquet gets slowly back to his feet.
Marquet misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Marquet shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Poppy as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nicholas Marquet. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Marquet looks for a takedown but Poppy sprawls well.
Poppy misses with a two punch combination.
Poppy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Marquet.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Marquet. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Marquet tries to get into range but Poppy steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Marquet! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Poppy scores the big KO victory!
