Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Gat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaun Akers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaun Akers is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Gat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Shaun Akers!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akers throws a hook but Gat avoids it easily.

Gat changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Akers looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Akers is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gat asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Gat remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Gat has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Johnny Gat just wasn't active enough.

Gat closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Johnny Gat.
Akers swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Gat is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Akers's half guard.

Akers throws a hook but Gat blocks it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Akers is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Gat has taken his back.

Gat will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gat seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Akers for as long as he can get away with.

Gat moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Akers misses with an uppercut. Gat saw that one coming.
Nice defenses there by Gat.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Akers throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gat throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Akers was covering up waiting for the punch and Gat finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Akers wants to stand but Gat is controlling the position.
Gat stays in close to Akers's body and controls the position.

Johnny Gat has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Gat feints and as Akers raises his hands in defense, Gat changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gat engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Akers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Johnny Gat just wasn't active enough.
Akers swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Shaun Akers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Akers misses with a looping left.
Akers takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Gat avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Akers is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Johnny Gat overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gat shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Akers manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Gat is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Shaun Akers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Johnny Gat has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Gat takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Gat slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Gat got a little sloppy there for a moment and Akers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gat has managed to get both his arms back between Akers's legs - danger averted.

Gat closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Akers to the mat! Akers manages to get full guard.
Johnny Gat is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Gat won't allow Akers to get back to his feet.
Akers throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gat is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Johnny Gat showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gat, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
