Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mitsuharu Misawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joshua North! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! North shoots in but no luck this time. North shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Misawa defends it nicely. Misawa tries to clinch but North moves away and North counters with a nice double leg into guard. North trying to control the position from guard on top but Misawa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. North engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. North drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and North jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. North looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. North stopping the sweep attempt from Misawa. Misawa can't keep his opponent in guard - North advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

North is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Misawa has managed to free his arm - good work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. North is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joshua North dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Misawa for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. North pulls guard. Mitsuharu Misawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Misawa tries to clinch but North moves out of range. North throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Misawa's waist but Misawa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing North off to one side.
