Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joseph Quigley!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quigley stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Quigley wants it to stay on the feet.
Cifer Jr throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cifer Jr throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Quigley stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Cifer Jr misses with a body shot.
Quigley avoids the body shot from Cifer Jr.
Cifer Jr shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Quigley defends it nicely.
Quigley avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Cifer Jr is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Quigley.
Quigley works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Quigley moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cifer Jr postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cifer Jr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Quigley works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Quigley preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Quigley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Quigley is pulling down on Cifer Jr's head. It's preventing any offense from Cifer Jr, at least for the moment.
Let's hope that Quigley has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Cifer Jr not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Quigley looking for a sweep. Not yet Quigley, not yet.
Cifer Jr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Quigley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cifer Jr manages to get himself to full guard.
Cifer Jr wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Quigley makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cifer Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Quigley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Joseph Quigley was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Cifer Jr takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Cifer Jr takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Cifer Jr misses the shot to the body.
Cifer Jr throws a series of punches but Quigley moves out of range.
Cifer Jr connects with a body shot.
Cifer Jr fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lou Cifer Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cifer Jr thows a body shot but no joy.
Quigley shoots in looking for a takedown but Cifer Jr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Quigley's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Quigley throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Quigley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cifer Jr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Quigley manages to avoid it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cifer Jr misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Cifer Jr throws a body punch but Quigley moves out of range.

and Quigley counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Quigley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cifer Jr sneaks back into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Joseph Quigley will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Quigley avoids the body shot from Cifer Jr.
Quigley swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cifer Jr.
Cifer Jr is looking to wear down Quigley with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Quigley looks to land a left hand but Cifer Jr moved out of range nicely.
Lou Cifer Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jab, jab by Cifer Jr - just one landing.


It looks like Joseph Quigley has been cut.
The fighters circling - Cifer Jr throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Quigley wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Quigley connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Cifer Jr's hands.
A jab from Quigley finds it's way through Cifer Jr's defenses.

Cifer Jr takes a swing at Quigley's ribcage but misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cifer Jr misses with an uppercut.
Quigley keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Quigley ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Cifer Jr's jaw. Cifer Jr's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Quigley does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joseph Quigley!
