Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vlad Dostoevsky! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Tosh! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dostoevsky closes the distance looking to clinch and Tosh makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Tosh is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Dostoevsky throws a shot from downtown. Tosh moves away and avoids it. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Dostoevsky.
Dostoevsky ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tosh moves away. Dostoevsky tries to clinch but Tosh is having none of it. Dostoevsky tries to clinch but fails miserably and Dostoevsky takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Dostoevsky just misses with a punch to the body.
Tosh fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dostoevsky manages to avoid it. Tosh does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Tosh checks the leg kick. Tosh misses with a low kick. Tosh with a couple of short strikes. Tosh wants to control the pace but Dostoevsky is squirming around nicely. Dostoevsky might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tosh tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Tosh cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Tosh looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Tosh goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Dostoevsky is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tosh has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dostoevsky can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Tosh working for submissions but it's allowed Dostoevsky to get to half guard.
Dostoevsky controlling the action here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tosh is trying to get back to full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tosh is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dostoevsky is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Dostoevsky is not in a great position here, taking some shots. You can see the frustration on Dostoevsky's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Tosh trying to control the position but Dostoevsky is working away.

Tosh can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dostoevsky is looking to escape. Peter Tosh has got the better of the ground game so far. Tosh has control of Dostoevsky's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Dostoevsky regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Dostoevsky wants to control but Tosh is having none of it. Tosh is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dostoevsky can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Peter Tosh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Tosh looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Tosh passes into half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tosh not landing any meaningful shots this time.
