PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chad Brewster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dodong Angas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brewster comes to the cage accompanied by Way of the Fist. Angas is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Paint in Black. On his way into the cage it seems that Chad Brewster has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Chad Brewster seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chad Brewster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dodong Angas!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angas throws a head kick that misses.
Angas misses with a body shot
and Brewster connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Angas fails in his attempt to clinch.
Brewster dodges the punch combination from Angas.
Angas misses with a double jab.
Angas throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Brewster fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Angas is out of range.
Angas on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Brewster shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Angas sprawls well. Angas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brewster gets slowly back to his feet.
Angas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dodong Angas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brewster rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Angas moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Angas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Chad Brewster has been cut.
Angas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brewster lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Angas at a distance.
Brewster waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Angas.
Brewster throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Angas sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Angas misses the jab.
Angas throws a right and a left that Brewster avoids nicely.
Angas walks into a straight right hand from Brewster.
Angas swings for the body but Brewster moves out of range.
Brewster has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Brewster there as he acknowledges the shot.
Angas takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Crunch! Brewster slams his shin into Angas's torso.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Angas connects with a body shot that sends Brewster's belly button to the back.
Angas throws a series of punches but Brewster moves out of range.
Angas waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Brewster.
Brewster throws a body punch but Angas moves out of range.
Brewster looks to score with a jab to the body but Angas is just out of range.

Angas throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Brewster counters with a nice uppercut.
Brewster misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Angas.
Brewster keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Angas lands with an overhand left.
Brewster blocks a head kick by Angas.
Angas takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Angas scores with a head kick. Brewster tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Angas slips under a jab.

Brewster misses with a hook.
Brewster shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Angas tries to work over Brewster's front leg with a kick but Brewster checks it.
Angas tries to land a front kick but Brewster steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Brewster lands an overhand right.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brewster checks a leg kick nicely.
Angas throws a right and a left that Brewster avoids nicely.
Angas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brewster manages to avoid it.
Brewster throws a nice looking combination but Angas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Brewster connects with a jab.
Brewster cracks Angas with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Angas connects with a looping right hand.
Brewster bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Angas's head.
Brewster is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Angas.
Brewster tries for a takedown but Angas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chad Brewster. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brewster fails to land with a series of punches.
Angas looks to score with a jab to the body but Brewster is just out of range.

Brewster doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brewster keeps the fight on the outside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dodong Angas will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Chad Brewster's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Angas throws a right and a left that Brewster avoids nicely.
Angas misses with a double jab.
Dodong Angas seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Brewster needs to keep his hands up - Angas had a free shot at his head there.
Angas throws a hook but Brewster blocks it.
Brewster's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Angas connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Brewster scrambles back to his feet.
Brewster scores with a hook.
Angas tries to clinch but Brewster moves out of range.
Brewster feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Angass jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!


Angas is rocked!
Brewster misses with an uppercut.
Angas is still on wobbly legs! Can Brewster finish him?
Brewster throws a hook but Angas blocks it.
Brewster lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Angas falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Chad Brewster!
Chad Brewster was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
