The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almeida shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rabbit napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Almeida slows the pace down.
Almeida has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Rabbit throws a head kick that misses
and Almeida counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rabbit's guard now.

Rabbit could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rabbit trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Almeida is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.
Almeida looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Roberto Almeida.
Almeida fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rabbit sprawls well initially but Almeida persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Almeida works to advance to full mount. Rabbit defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Roberto Almeida was stalling too much, according to the referee.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Well Almeida has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
