Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matos looks to clinch
and Rivera counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rivera.
Matos lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rivera!
Matos is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rivera has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Matos misses with a head shot.
Matos goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Rivera is on top in guard.
Matos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Matos looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rivera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Matos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rivera manages to get himself to full guard.

Rivera might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Matos kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Matos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Matos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Rivera is looking for a triangle but Matos pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Matos cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Matos has his feet on Rivera's thighs here. He's pushed Rivera off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Rivera screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

After the fight, Lucas Matos was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
