Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Sandelos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sandelos is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by We Takin' Over. Frank Mir has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Sandelos! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Sandelos. No joy for Mir on that attempt. Mir swats away the attempt to clinch by Sandelos. Mir throws a head kick but Sandelos moves out of range.
Sandelos tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mir fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Sandelos's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Sandelos duly obliges.
It looks like Frank Mir has been cut. Mir shoots in and gets a takedown into Sandelos's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Sandelos looking for a guillotine here but Mir defends easily.
Mir looking to sit in guard and control but Sandelos gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sandelos postures up.
Mir wants to sweep here but Sandelos controlling him for the moment. Sandelos would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Mir pulls Sandelos in to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Frank Mir. A head kick misses from Mir. Sandelos leaves Mir with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sandelos tries to clinch there but Mir circles away.
Sandelos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sandelos wants to clinch. Mir shoots for a takedown but Sandelos saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Sandelos buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Mir fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir rushes Sandelos and presses him up against the cage. Sandelos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mir steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sandelos. Mir shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sandelos sprawls well. Sandelos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mir gets slowly back to his feet. Mir dives in and scores a takedown into Sandelos's guard. Mir tries to free his leg and advance position but Sandelos is retaining full guard. Mir throwing strikes from guard but Sandelos blocks nicely. Sandelos not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sandelos keeping full guard, as Mir tries to pass. Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Sandelos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sandelos wants to get back to his feet but Mir is in a dominant position and won't allow it. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sandelos avoids a punch combination nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nice sprawl there from Sandelos as Mir shoots in. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Frank Mir will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Frank Mir's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A combination from Mir does no damage. Mir shoots in for a double leg but Sandelos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Frank Mir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mir looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Sandelos tries to keep at a distance but Mir has taken the fight into the clinch. Sandelos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Frank Mir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sandelos is looking to clinch but Mir is avoiding it.
Sandelos moves to clinch but Mir breaks away and Mir finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Mir tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sandelos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mir somewhat. Mir fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir swats away the attempt to clinch by Sandelos. Sandelos is looking to score with low kicks. Mir closes the distance and clinches. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Mir taking a breather. Mir pressing his opponent against the cage. Sandelos breaks the clinch.
Sandelos rushes Mir and presses him up against the cage. Sandelos has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Mir is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sandelos gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sandelos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sandelos tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A big left from Mir misses. Mir fails with the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Sandelos. No joy for Mir on that attempt. A good leg kick by Sandelos. Mir gets in close and instigates a clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sandelos is pushing Mir up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. The referee is keeping an eye on Mir - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Sandelos throws a knee to the head but misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir managing to block the knees to the body from Sandelos.
Mir misses with a punch on the inside.
Mir manages to break the clinch.
Mir takes the fight into the clinch. Sandelos looking to slow down the pace here. Sandelos stops a takedown attempt from Mir.
Mir lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Sandelos is refusing to be controlled, as Mir sits in half guard. Sandelos is looking to control Mir's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sandelos avoid being mounted?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Sandelos is not content to let Mir control the position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Sandelos manages to retain guard. Mir trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sandelos's guard. Mir showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Mir trying to control but Sandelos is working from the bottom. Mir missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sandelos is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mir is controlling him.
Frank Mir has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Sandelos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sandelos gets tackled into the cage by Mir. Mir maintains the clinch. Mir makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Sandelos manages to break the clinch.
Mir shoots in but no luck this time. Mir clinches with his opponent.
Sandelos unloads a knee to the mid-section. Mir lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. A knee to the head by Sandelos.
Mir tries to break free but Sandelos pushes him back against the cage. Sandelos blocks an uppercut.

Jonathan Sandelos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mir takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mir looks to throw the jab but Sandelos is out of range. Sandelos tries to clinch but Mir moves out of range. Sandelos keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jonathan Sandelos seems to be getting the better of the standup. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sandelos tries to clinch but Mir is having none of it. Mir looks for a takedown but Sandelos sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sandelos wants to clinch. Mir fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sandelos tries to clinch up but Mir circles away and keeps his distance. Jonathan Sandelos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sandelos moves in looking to clinch but Mir pushes him off. Mir swats away the attempt to clinch by Sandelos. Sandelos gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mir stands and throws Sandelos's legs to the side, diving into side control. Sandelos gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir trying to pass the guard but Sandelos defending well. Sandelos avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mir. Frank Mir overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mir trying to control from half guard but Sandelos is working away. Mir is looking for a kimura but Sandelos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mir to get the leverage. Frank Mir is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mir is controlling the pace.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Mir showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mir, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
