Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Coleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Karl Burns! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Burns swinging wildly here.
Burns displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Coleman. Burns throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Burns misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Coleman closes the distance and clinches up with Burns, looking for a takedown. Coleman pushes Burns against the cage but Burns circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Coleman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Burns looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Burns fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Burns lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Coleman backs up against the cage.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Coleman is defended easily by Burns. Coleman avoids a kick to the body.
Coleman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Burns closes the distance and pushes Coleman back into the cage. Burns wants to break free but Coleman has control.
Coleman wants to take the fight to the mat but Burns manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coleman has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Burns avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Coleman tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Burns can't break the clinch.
Coleman wants a takedown.
Burns is trying to force a seperation but Coleman has the dominant position. Burns can't break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Burns escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Burns throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Coleman tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Burns throws a combination. Coleman tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Burns wants to clinch up but Coleman keeps it at a distance. Coleman walks into a straight right hand from Burns. Burns lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Burns. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Burns drops Coleman with a beautiful combination! Coleman stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Burns is looking for the KO!
Coleman is rocked! Burns throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Coleman. Oh Coleman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Coleman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Coleman fails with a takedown attempt. Coleman looks up at the clock. Bad move! Burns lands a right hand from hell, dropping Coleman. Burns pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
