1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nikita Olavski! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Olavski misses the body punch and Mezerolovskionivch counters with a nice double leg into side control. Olavski won't be happy with that. Olavski can't do much from the bottom here. Mezerolovskionivch working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Mezerolovskionivch in side control, throwing shots but Olavski defends. Olavski gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Mezerolovskionivch prevents Olavski from standing back up.
Mezerolovskionivch looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Mezerolovskionivch stops Olavski from getting back to his feet.
Olavski keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Olavski tries to get to full guard but Mezerolovskionivch has control of the leg. Olavski is trying to stand back up but Mezerolovskionivch is controlling him
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Olavski can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mezerolovskionivch throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Mezerolovskionivch not landing any meaningful shots this time. Olavski slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Mezerolovskionivch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mezerolovskionivch wants to control from the top but Olavski keeps moving. Mezerolovskionivch stopping the sweep attempt from Olavski. Mezerolovskionivch is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mezerolovskionivch stands and throws Olavski's legs to the side, diving into side control. Mezerolovskionivch is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Olavski looks calm but he's in trouble here. Mezerolovskionivch gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Olavski is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Mezerolovskionivch lets go of the hold and Olavski can pop his arm back in it's socket.
