The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Rodrigues counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Garcia has a hand on Rodrigues's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Rodrigues takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Garcia reaches up to try and control the position but Rodrigues seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Garcia rolls and tries to escape and now Rodrigues has his back!
Rodrigues keeps control of the position as Garcia tries to break free.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodrigues is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Garcia is defending well though. Rodrigues let's go of the attempt for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rodrigues is working the ground and pound. Can Garcia escape?

After winning the bout, Lucio Rodrigues thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
