Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Landon Graves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Hammer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Landon Graves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Hammer! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Graves connects with a high kick. Hammer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hammer is looking to clinch. Graves scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Hammer scores with a push kick. Hammer has closed the distance and engaged Graves in a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Graves takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Graves is looking to break free of the clinch but Hammer has double underhooks. Hammer scores with an uppercut up the middle. Hammer turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hammer manages to end up in side control. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Hammer looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hammer working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammer tries for a kimura but Graves is defending well. Hammer looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hammer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hammer wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Graves, who protects the arm well. Graves is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hammer stands up and we're back to a striking position. Graves looks to land a right hand but Hammer moved out of range. Some bone on bone action there as Hammer checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Hammer moves in looking to clinch but Graves pushes him off. Hammer checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Hammer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sloppy strikes from Graves. Those never looked like landing. Hammer scores with a takedown into Graves's guard. Graves tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hammer gets to his feet - Graves follows without any prompting. Graves throws a sloppy head kick and Hammer moves out of range easily. Graves gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hammer looking to pass the guard. Hammer stands up from Graves's guard - Hammer perhaps looking for a knockout. A bone on bone clash there as Hammer blocks the leg kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Graves defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hammer. Landon Graves is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Graves looks to land a combination but Hammer avoids it well. Hammer avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Graves leaves Hammer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Hammer dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hammer looking to score a takedown here. Graves is defending well but Hammer drives through and ends up in Graves's guard. Hammer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Hammer decides to stand back up. Hammer steps back and let's Graves get back to his feet. Hammer tries to clinch up. Graves avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Graves will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
A head kick misses from Hammer. Hammer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Graves quickly recovers to half guard. Hammer seems to be working for a kimura but Graves defends the submission attempt. Graves is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammer is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Hammer gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Hammer tries for a takedown but Graves sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Graves displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hammer. Graves lands with a kick to the temple. Hammer shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Hammer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hammer is working for a submission of some sort.
Hammer is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Graves sees it coming and defends easily. Hammer is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hammer is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Hammer advances to half guard. Hammer is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Graves doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hammer. Dan Hammer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Graves tries to break free but Hammer pushes him back against the cage. Graves is trying to force a seperation but Hammer has the dominant position. Hammer jumps guard but Graves stands there with Hammer around his waist. Hammer gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hammer works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Hammer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Graves is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hammer, into his guard. Graves has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Graves trying to control the position from guard on top but Hammer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Graves throwing strikes but missing. Landon Graves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hammer gets in close and instigates a clinch. Graves working hard to break the clinch. Graves is trying to push Hammer away but Hammer has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Hammer drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hammer is working for takedown but Graves is calmly controlling the position for now. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hammer tries to pull guard but Graves holds him up against the cage and eventually Hammer drops back down to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight! Dan Hammer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Hammer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
