Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Sharper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Millar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Sharper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Millar! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Millar doesn't manage to clinch there - Sharper circles away.
Sharper shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Millar wants to hold on but Sharper pushes him away. Sharper takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sharper's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Millar is in all sorts of trouble here.
Sharper controlling from the full mount. Sharper seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Millar for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jon Sharper. Millar tries to sprawl but Sharper drives through with a takedown into half guard. Sharper is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Millar is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sharper sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Millar fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sharper is out of range. Sharper fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Millar avoids it really well and circles away. Millar throws a head kick that misses. Dan Millar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sharper fails with the takedown. Sharper shoots in looking for a takedown but Millar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sharper's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Sharper. That's going to take a lot out of him. Millar doesn't manage to clinch there - Sharper circles away.
Sharper keeps the fight on the outside. Millar throws a half hearted mid kick. Millar looks for a takedown but Sharper sprawls well. Millar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

We're going to have a standup here because Jon Sharper wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Sharper scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Sharper controls the position. Jon Sharper overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sharper advances nicely into full mount. Sharper controlling from mount.

Millar tries for a takedown but Sharper sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Sharper fails with a takedown attempt. Sharper shoots for a double leg takedown but Millar sprawls well. He's pushed Sharper's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Sharper gets a double leg takedown into Millar's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sharper is pushing down on Millar's leg trying to pass to half guard. Millar is fighting to maintain full guard but Sharper has managed to sneak the leg through. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sharper is taking a breather. Millar says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Sharper is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Millar! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Millar wants to clinch up but Sharper keeps it at a distance. Millar motions for Sharper to come forward. Millar throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Sharper shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sharper showed some decent athleticism there. Sharper is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Sharper moves nicely into side control. Sharper controls the position. Millar gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Sharper controlling the pace for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Sharper wasn't doing enough on the ground. Millar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sharper moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sharper shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Millar's guard. Sharper slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Millar sprawls well initially but Sharper persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Sharper seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Dan Millar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Millar gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Sharper counters with a nice double leg into side control. Millar won't be happy with that. This has been an exciting period of action! Sharper takes a little break here. Millar wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Sharper showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sharper, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Jon Sharper! After the fight, Jon Sharper was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
