Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chico Escuela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angus McLoughlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Escuela might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Wu-Tang Clan - Protect Ya Neck. The crowd seem to be enjoying McLoughlin's choice of entrance music: Cadence to Arms. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLoughlin throws a lazy head kick
and Escuela counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Escuela is looking for a kimura but McLoughlin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Escuela to get the leverage.
Escuela is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Escuela is working for a submission of some sort.
Escuela is sneakily working for an arm triangle but McLoughlin sees it coming and defends easily.
McLoughlin wants to get back to his feet.
Escuela is thwarting McLoughlin's attempts to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McLoughlin tries to get to full guard but Escuela has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Escuela is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McLoughlin is just riding it out for now. Escuela eventually gives up the hold.

Escuela postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McLoughlin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Escuela, into his guard.
McLoughlin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Escuela looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Escuela is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Escuela is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McLoughlin defends well.
McLoughlin gets to his feet. Escuela looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

McLoughlin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Escuela has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

McLoughlin cracks the inside of Escuela's front leg.
A low kick from McLoughlin is predictable there
and Escuela counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McLoughlin wants to stand but Escuela is controlling the position.
Escuela is looking to work some ground and pound but McLoughlin has wrist control.
Escuela in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Escuela drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McLoughlin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Escuela has McLoughlin in his guard.

Escuela throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McLoughlin's waist but McLoughlin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Escuela off to one side.
McLoughlin goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

McLoughlin stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Escuela.

Escuela has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Escuela there as he acknowledges the shot.
McLoughlin doesn't manage to clinch there - Escuela circles away.
McLoughlin throws out a leg kick but Escuela moves out of range and McLoughlin only half commits.
McLoughlin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Escuela swats him away and circles back towards the center.
