Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yaroslav Godvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yaroslav Godvin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jackson Jose! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yaroslav Godvin! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jose tries for a takedown but Godvin circles away easily and Godvin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jose! The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Godvin wants to take Jose's back here but Jose is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Jose keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Godvin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Godvin stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Godvin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jose is trying hard to land a takedown here. Godvin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Godvin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jose as he jumps to the side. No luck for Godvin with that takedown attempt. Jose fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jackson Jose. That's going to take a lot out of him. Godvin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Godvin misses with a takedown and Jose counters with a takedown into side control. Godvin stuck in half guard on the bottom here. Godvin is trying to get back to half guard. Check out the look on Jose's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jose landing a few strikes. Godvin is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jose's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Godvin is controlling Jose's position as best he can from this difficult position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jose thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Godvin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jose. Jose seems to be looking for submissions.
Jose is just content to waste time from the top position. Godvin takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Jose postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jose missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jose scoring with some ground and pound. Jose drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Godvin dives on top into guard. Godvin wants to control from the top but Jose keeps moving. Godvin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. It looks like Godvin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jackson Jose will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Godvin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Jose is looking for a sweep. Jose is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Godvin is controlling him well. Jose wants to control but Godvin postures up. Godvin controls the position.

Yaroslav Godvin has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Jose tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jackson Jose seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Godvin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jose to the ground. Godvin is now in Jose's guard. Jose looking for subs off his back but Godvin has passed one foot through into half guard.
Jose is trying to get back to full guard. Yaroslav Godvin has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jose has one foot on Godvin's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Godvin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jose sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jose leaves Godvin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jackson Jose is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jose tries for a takedown but Godvin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nice sprawl there from Jose as Godvin shoots in. Jackson Jose has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yaroslav Godvin.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Godvin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jose's waist but Jose gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Godvin off to one side. The fight stays on the outside here - Jose looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Godvin moves out of range of the leg kick from Jose. Jose fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Godvin to the ground. Jose is now in Godvin's guard. Godvin looking to control.
Jose postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Godvin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jose, into his guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Godvin trying to control but Jose is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Godvin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jose shoots in for a takedown but Godvin shows good takedown defense. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Yaroslav Godvin will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Jose's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Sloppy strikes from Jose. Those never looked like landing. Godvin gets a double leg takedown into Jose's guard. Jose looking to hit a scissor sweep but Godvin is one step ahead there. Jose can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Godvin controls the pace. Godvin is standing up over Jose. Jose looks to escape but Godvin dives into side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Godvin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jose knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Jose struggling a bit here. Jose tries to bench press Godvin off him but Godvin keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. You can see the frustration on Jose's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Godvin decides to stand back up. Godvin steps back and let's Jose get back to his feet. Jose keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jose lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Godvin backs up against the ropes.
Godvin doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jose counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jose fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jose falls off balance throwing a combination
and Godvin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jose's guard now. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jose wants to get back to his feet but Godvin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jose is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Godvin dives into side control.
Godvin is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Jose's shoulder. That is not cool.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Godvin decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jose to his feet. A head kick by Jose misses and Godvin counters with a nice double leg into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Godvin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Godvin advances to half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Godvin moves into full mount! Jose won't be happy about that!
And that's the end of the fight! Yaroslav Godvin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Godvin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
