Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michael Angelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raje Malapitan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Michael Angelo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raje Malapitan! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angelo tries to clinch but Malapitan moves away and Malapitan counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Malapitan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Angelo is just riding it out for now. Malapitan eventually gives up the hold. Angelo is trying is best to control the position here. Malapitan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Angelo is defending against the submission attempts here by Malapitan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Angelo is controlling Malapitan's trapped leg to prevent Malapitan from advancing to side control. Malapitan is pressing down on Angelo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Angelo is holding on for now. Malapitan is working for a kimura but Angelo is defending it quite comfortably.
Malapitan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Malapitan working for a submission but Angelo is keeping him at bay. Malapitan is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Angelo has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Angelo! Angelo scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Angelo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Angelo tries to clinch but Malapitan is having none of it. Michael Angelo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Angelo clinches up against the cage. A knee to the head by Angelo.
Angelo creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Angelo lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

It looks like Raje Malapitan has been cut. Angelo prevents a takedown attempt there.

Malapitan drops down looking for an ankle pick but Angelo pulls his leg out and moves away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Malapitan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Angelo but Angelo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Angelo tries to clinch up and Malapitan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Angelo! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Raje Malapitan will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Raje Malapitan's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Malapitan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Angelo sprawls well. Angelo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Malapitan gets slowly back to his feet. Angelo tries to clinch up. Malapitan on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Angelo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Malapitan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Angelo as he jumps to the side. Malapitan tries to keep at a distance but Angelo has taken the fight into the clinch.

Malapitan avoids a wild elbow strike from Angelo. Malapitan has Angelo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Angelo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Michael Angelo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raje Malapitan. Malapitan has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Angelo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Malapitan gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Angelo regains guard.
Angelo wants to stand and escape but Malapitan is having none of it. Malapitan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Angelo is keeping the position for now. Malapitan advances position into side control! Malapitan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Angelo has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Malapitan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Angelo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Angelo wants to control but Malapitan postures up. Malapitan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Angelo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Angelo tries to get out of the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Malapitan goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Angelo rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Malapitan's guard! Nice work there by Angelo!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malapitan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Angelo is one step ahead there. Angelo is looking to stand up but Malapitan won't let him. Angelo looking to pass the guard. Malapitan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Angelo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Malapitan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Angelo, into his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Malapitan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Malapitan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Malapitan tries for a kimura but Angelo is defending well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Malapitan swings around for an armbar but Angelo sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Malapitan's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Raje Malapitan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Raje Malapitan's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Malapitan tries to keep at a distance but Angelo has taken the fight into the clinch. Malapitan goes for a takedown in the clinch but Angelo prevents it.

Malapitan takes an elbow to the forehead. A nice glancing elbow lands by Angelo. Malapitan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Angelo landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Malapitan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Angelo pulls him back up using the underhooks. Malapitan is looking for a takedown. Malapitan changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Angelo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A head kick misses from Angelo. Angelo lands with a kick to the temple. Malapitan shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

That has opened up Raje Malapitan's cut even more. Angelo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Angelo misses with a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Angelo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Malapitans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Malapitan is still on wobbly legs! Can Angelo finish him? Angelo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Malapitan seems to have recovered his senses. Angelo takes the fight into the clinch. Angelo lands a nice elbow. Malapitan drops down looking for an ankle pick but Angelo pulls his leg out and moves away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Angelo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A cross from Angelo lands. Angelo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Malapitan swats him away and circles back towards the center. Angelo listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Angelo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Michael Angelo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Angelo leaves Malapitan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Angelo tries to clinch up and Malapitan counters with a takedown into side control. Michael Angelo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Malapitan has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Angelo is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Malapitan yanks on the arm and Angelo is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Malapitan.
