PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grisha Egorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ludacris-Get Back. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matthew Clark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Grisha Egorov!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark throws a shot to the body.

Clark feints and as Egorov raises his hands in defense, Clark changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Egorov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Clark defends it easily.
Clark has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Clark controlling from the top position.

Egorov is looking for a triangle but Clark pushes his legs off easily.
Clark working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Egorov has his foot on Clark's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Clark works his way back into a safe position though.
Clark stands and throws Egorov's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Clark knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Egorov on the ground.

Clark throws an elbow but Egorov slips to the side and avoids it well.
Egorov is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Clark tries to pass to full mount but Egorov defends it.
Egorov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Egorov is looking for a triangle but Clark pushes his legs off easily.

Egorov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Clark gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Clark wanted to stand there but Egorov had control of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Clark connects with a couple of short punches.
Clark with a flurry of punches that miss.

Egorov throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Clark wants to stand but Egorov has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Egorov looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Clark sitting in guard here, content to control.
Clark trying to control the position from guard on top but Egorov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Clark controls from within his opponent's guard.

Clark avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Clark slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Clark throws a big right hand that misses.

We're going to have a standup here because Matthew Clark wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Clark works the jab nicely.
Egorov wants to clinch
and Clark counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Egorov thinking.

Clark drops Egorov with a beautiful combination! Egorov stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Clark is looking for the KO!

It looks like Grisha Egorov has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Clark fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Egorov square on the jaw! Damn, Egorov is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Matthew Clark!
Matthew Clark gave a mention to The Nutritionists (O.R.G) »Q155 only $49!« in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
