PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manu Ginobili (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Manu Ginobili was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ken Kimura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Manu Ginobili!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ginobili ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kimura moves away.

Kimura throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ginobili was covering up waiting for the punch and Kimura finishes the takedown easily into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Ginobili looking to control.
Kimura might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kimura is standing up over Ginobili. Ginobili looks to escape but Kimura dives into side control.
Kimura looks up at the clock and then as Ginobili takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kimura smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Kimura has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kimura shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Kimura postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Ginobili to stand up.
Ginobili throws a push kick but Kimura slaps the foot to one side.
Ginobili doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ginobili looks gassed!

Kimura lands a big head kick that sends Ginobili tumbling to the mat! Kimura takes a step backwards and waves Ginobili back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Manu Ginobili has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kimura lands a nice looking body kick.

Kimura closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ginobili did well to prevent Kimura getting side control.
Kimura content to control rather than advance.

Kimura decides to stand and escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kimura gets a double leg takedown into Ginobili's guard.
Kimura is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kimura passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kimura advances to full mount.
Kimura putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Kimura lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


That has opened up Manu Ginobili's cut even more.
Kimura postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Ginobili bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Kimura and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ken Kimura!
