Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ray Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Risto Pasila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ray Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Risto Pasila!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pasila has taken the fight to the clinch.

Pasila has picked Reed up - he's going for a ride! Pasila dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Reed tries to roll over but Pasila keeps him under control.
Reed is looking to get back to full guard here but Pasila has managed to pass to side control instead.
Reed really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pasila postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Reed looks a forlorn figure.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pasila is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Reed can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Reed throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Reed shoots in looking for a takedown but Pasila manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Reed's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Pasila closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Pasila lands a hook that snaps the head of Reed backwards.
Reed goes for a takedown attempt but Pasila pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Reed counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pasila thinking.
Ray Reed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Risto Pasila.

Reed tries to clinch up but Pasila circles away and keeps his distance.

Pasila bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Reed is staying active underneath Pasila, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Pasila has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Pasila closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Reed to the mat! Reed manages to get full guard.
Pasila must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Reed is letting Pasila control him for a moment.
Let's hope that Pasila has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee asks Pasila politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Pasila prefers to stall for the moment though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Risto Pasila showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Well Pasila has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
