Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryron Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bryron Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fedor Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko scores a takedown into full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thomas tries to lock up and control but Emelianenko gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Thomas tries to reverse the position but Emelianenko maintains control. Emelianenko goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Thomas is on top in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Emelianenko can do anything to dispel that myth. Thomas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Thomas passes Emelianenko's left leg - he's now in half guard. Thomas missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Emelianenko manages to escape and get back to his feet! Thomas gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Emelianenko to score an easy takedown into full guard. Emelianenko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas tries to land a sweep but no joy. Thomas trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Emelianenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thomas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Thomas throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Emelianenko preventing the sweep. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Thomas is on top in guard.
Thomas is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Thomas slips nicely into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko is looking for a sweep. Thomas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Emelianenko is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Thomas wants to free his trapped foot but Emelianenko is holding on for dear life with his legs. Emelianenko tries to roll over but Thomas keeps him under control. Thomas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Thomas with the ground and pound but Emelianenko uses the opportunity to regain guard. Emelianenko is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Thomas slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Emelianenko avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Thomas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas working away. Thomas throwing shots but missing, from side control. Thomas tries to score with some ground and pound. Emelianenko controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Emelianenko takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Thomas postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
You can see the frustration on Emelianenko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Thomas sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Emelianenko is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Thomas working away. Thomas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Thomas lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko tries to escape but Thomas is in control. Emelianenko wants to control but Thomas postures up. Emelianenko is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Thomas lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Thomas lands an elbow. Emelianenko tries to control but Thomas manages to take his back. Thomas somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Emelianenko wants to get back to his feet. Emelianenko tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bryron Thomas dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Emelianenko scores with a spinning back kick! Thomas throws a right hand that Emelianenko ducks under and follows up with a left that Emelianenko also avoids with ease. Thomas motions for Emelianenko to come forward. Thomas throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Emelianenko is looking to clinch. Thomas lands an overhand right. Thomas doesn't succeed with the takedown and Emelianenko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Emelianenko misses with a kick to the body.
Emelianenko will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Thomas doesn't manage to clinch there - Emelianenko circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Emelianenko was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Emelianenko trying to control but he's not successful this time. Emelianenko avoids the attempt from Thomas to control. Thomas somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Emelianenko doesn't manage to clinch there - Thomas circles away.

Emelianenko tries to clinch but Thomas is having none of it. Emelianenko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thomas's waist but Thomas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Emelianenko off to one side. Bryron Thomas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Emelianenko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Emelianenko trying to control the position from guard on top but Thomas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko wanted to stand there but Thomas had control of the position. Thomas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Emelianenko defends well. Emelianenko trying to control but Thomas is working from the bottom. Emelianenko in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Emelianenko stands up from Thomas's guard - Emelianenko perhaps looking for a knockout. Emelianenko throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Emelianenko closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Thomas did well to prevent Emelianenko getting side control. Emelianenko tries to pass the half guard into mount. Thomas knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Thomas is looking to control Emelianenko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Thomas avoid being mounted? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fedor Emelianenko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Emelianenko ducks under a wild hook from Thomas. Emelianenko fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thomas avoids it really well and circles away. Thomas gets caught flat footed, as Emelianenko shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Thomas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Emelianenko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Emelianenko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Emelianenko prevents Thomas from getting back to his feet. Thomas trying to keep a closed guard but Emelianenko is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas keeping moving, preventing Emelianenko from controlling successfully. Thomas pulls Emelianenko in close to his closed guard and prevents Emelianenko from doing any damage or advancing position. Emelianenko avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Emelianenko controls from within his opponent's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Emelianenko trying to control but Thomas is working from the bottom.

Fedor Emelianenko has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Thomas takes one to the side of the head.
Emelianenko fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Emelianenko gets the takedown into side control. Emelianenko trying to control the position but Thomas is working away. Emelianenko goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Thomas has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Emelianenko but great work by Thomas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas in side control, throwing shots but Emelianenko defends. Emelianenko taking punishment in the form of punches.
Emelianenko tries to buck Thomas off but Thomas is having none of it. Emelianenko wants to get back to his feet. Emelianenko parries the strikes from Thomas easily there. Thomas is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Emelianenko to escape.
Emelianenko is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Emelianenko is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Thomas is controlling him well. Emelianenko is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Thomas decides to stand up, so the ref orders Emelianenko to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thomas misses the shot to the body. Emelianenko is looking to clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Excellent takedown into side control there by Emelianenko. Emelianenko trying to control the action but Thomas is working from the bottom. Emelianenko working away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Emelianenko looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that's the end of the fight! Fedor Emelianenko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Emelianenko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
