The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers shoots in looking for a takedown. Stryker tries to sprawl out of it but Powers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stryker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Stryker takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Powers dives in and grabs Stryker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stryker pushes down on Powers's head and hops out.
Powers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stryker pinned against the cage. Stryker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerome Powers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Powers throws a shot from downtown. Stryker moves away and avoids it.

Stryker rushes Powers and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Stryker lands a body punch in the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Stryker as Powers tries to tie him up.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Stryker creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Stryker gets through Powers's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Stryker makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Powers is rocked!

Oh Powers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stryker lands with a light punch inside.
Stryker scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Stryker gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Powers takes a shot to the head.
Stryker gets through Powers's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Stryker lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Powers to his knees! Stryker keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
