Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Sinatra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pjanoo Playmaker! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Playmaker misses with a takedown attempt - Sinatra sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Sinatra shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sinatra was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Sinatra is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Playmaker has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Playmaker! Playmaker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Playmaker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Playmaker postures up.
Sinatra wants to sweep here but Playmaker controlling him for the moment. Playmaker wants to control from the top but Sinatra keeps moving. Playmaker looking to pass the guard. Sinatra is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sinatra manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Playmaker is desperately trying to improve his position but Sinatra has a good base and remains in mount. Sinatra looking for a guillotine from mount but Playmaker is having none of it. Playmaker wants to get back to his feet.
Playmaker regains half guard. Sinatra wants to control but Playmaker is keeping him busy. Sinatra is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Playmaker looking for submissions off his back. Sinatra trying to pass the guard but Playmaker defending well. Playmaker has one foot on Sinatra's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sinatra with a poor takedown so Playmaker counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Sinatra is breathing heavily. Playmaker looking to pass the guard. Playmaker postures up.
Sinatra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Playmaker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Playmaker trying to control the position from guard on top but Sinatra is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sinatra is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Playmaker wants to control from the top but Sinatra keeps moving. Sinatra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Playmaker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sinatra wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sinatra had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Playmaker is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sinatra Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Playmaker's back instead. Sinatra has his arm under Playmaker's chin here. Game over son! Sinatra squeezes tightly and Playmaker is forced to tap out!
